Benefits Of Membership
Membership of the group is open to every individual or institution with an active interest in the study, protection and preservation of all aspects of fortifications and their armaments of all periods. It will also appeal to all fortification enthusiasts with a love for exploring castles and forts of childhood memories.
Benefits of membership include subscription to FORT, the Group's annual peer reviewed journal, and also the magazine Casemate. This is published three times a year and consists of news, book reviews and shorter articles on fortification and artillery. Members are also able to attend the annual conference located in the UK, and international Study Tours. The Group also runs an annual Away-Day which gives members the opportunity to visit forts which are not normally open to the public and a Member's Day which consists of lectures on fortification.
The annual subsciption fee is £25 / €40 for those resident in the UK & Europe, or £35 / $70 (USD) for the rest of the World. Payment may be made either online or by post.
